US-based Argo Group has appointed Valerie Baucher as manager for its Argo Assurances, a Paris-based underwriting platform for large specialty risks.
In this new role, Baucher will lead a financial lines and casualty account with French brokers and focus on commercial professional indemnity and E&O in intellectual activities/services and IT and media firms, as well as casualty products liability and comprehensive general liability.
Argo Direct, the company’s coverholder, will write accounts on behalf of Argo Group’s Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Argo Assurances Paris MD Bruno Ritchie said that the appointment of Baucher into key underwriting operations will extend the Argo Group brand within the broker community in French marketplace and throughout the European market.
Baucher has 17 years experience in underwriting and most recently served as head of professional indemnity for Europe at ACE and as professional liability manager at AIG Europe.
