Arch Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Arch Capital Group, has appointed Richard Richiski as the new executive vice president of Arch’s Accident & Health (A&H) Division effective May 10, 2010.

According to Arch, based in Jersey City at Arch Insurance Group’s US headquarters, Mr Richiski will be responsible for reinvigoration of A&H operation, and also overseeing the strategy, underwriting and operations of the unit. He will report to Michael Murphy, president of Arch’s Property & Casualty Group.

Mr Richiski had worked with Zurich for past 14 years, most recently serving as executive vice president of distribution and regional management, specialties products at Zurich American Insurance Company. There, he oversaw seven regions and was responsible for execution of specialty products financial and regional operational plans. Prior to that role, he held other executive positions in their specialties products and A&H areas.

Before joining Zurich, Mr Richiski served as executive vice president of Commercial Life Insurance Company at Unum and prior to Unum, he began his insurance career with Continental, holding various executive positions there.
