Replacing the current sponsor AIG, Manchester United has announced a global partnership and sponsorship agreement with Aon Corporation, an insurance and reinsurance broker.

As per the deal, the Aon brand will feature on the Manchester United shirt for four years from the start of the 2010/11 season.

AIG, bailed out by the US government for being victim of credit crunch, has not renewed the sponsorship deal with Manchester United.

Greg Case, CEO of Aon, said: “While we are delighted that our brand will be showcased to the over 330 million fans of Manchester United as well as the countless followers of football worldwide, we also are extremely excited about the opportunity to maximize the value of this partnership globally.”

Aon is involved in risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage services. The company also provides human capital and management consulting, and specialty insurance underwriting.
