Aon Re, a reinsurance brokerage company, has appointed Alfonso Valera as the new CEO of Aon Re Iberia, effective May 1, 2008.
Mr Valera will take over the role from Javier Esteban who will continue to work with Aon Re Europe, the Middle East and Africain (EMEA) at a senior advisor position.
Mr Valera has been general manager of Aon Re Iberia since 2005 and has served in several leadership positions in Aon Re over the last 17 years, including director of the facultative division, as well as spending five years working as a senior broker in London.
Mr Valera has a law degree from Complutense University of Madrid and an MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School.
