Anthem Life Insurance has added the Beneficiary Companion program and the Identity Theft Victim Recovery Services program to its Resource Advisor member assistance program.

The insurance firm has said that both programs will be available at no cost to new and existing customers effective 1 October 2010.

Other Resource Advisor services include advice on handling difficult situations such as losing a loved one, legal and financial consultations and preparation of all documents and letters for the member’s signature.

Anthem Life and Disability business president Nicholas Brecker said that the Beneficiary Companion helps beneficiaries protect customers estate by closing accounts, notifying financial institutions and public agencies of a death and placing a freeze on credit reports to protect the beneficiary against someone opening new accounts or using their loved ones existing accounts.

In addition, if our members become the victim of identity theft, the Identity Theft Victim Recovery Services program assists them with comprehensive identity recovery services by working with creditors, collection companies, collection law firms and credit reporting agencies, Brecker said.
