US mutual insurer of automobiles Amica Mutual Insurance (Amica) has chosen Guidewire Software's BillingCenter as its new billing management system for all of its lines of business in all states of US.

The company has already been utilizing Guidewire ClaimCenter since 2008 and is currently implementing PolicyCenter to offer optimum customer service, the underwriter said.

Commenting on the addition of the new billing management platform, Amica vice president and controller Maribeth Williamson said billing is one of the company’s most frequent touch points with its customers, so it is a high priority to the company.

"The way in which we bill, how we answer billing questions, how we process payments and the payment options we offer are critical to our relationship with our customers," Williamson added.

The new system will facilitate increased flexibility to policyholders with regards to their payment preferences; enhance Amica’s financial and statistical reporting capabilities; increase operational efficiencies to more easily and quickly implement system changes and new programs, among others.

Designed and built on the core design principles of automation, control and flexibility, Guidewire BillingCenter is a billing and receivables management system which easily automates the billing lifecycle; design flexible billing, payment and delinquency plans; manage agent commissions; and enable rapid integration with external payment systems, claims Guidewire.
