Insurance group AMB Generali has reported total premiums of E13.8 billion for fiscal 2007, a growth of 2.7% compared to total premiums recorded in fiscal 2006.

The group net profit before extraordinary tax impact rose to E417 million from E346 million reported in 2006. According to the company, a major contribution to this result was made by the positive development of premiums. At the same time, total expenses decreased across the group by E74 million to E1.74 billion.

Dietmar Meister, CEO of AMB Generali, said: We are continuously witnessing stronger growth than the market and have moved forward to position two in the German primary insurance market in the closed business year. The targets defined for 2007 were not only reached but mostly exceeded noticeably – despite turmoil in international financial markets.
