AMA in favour of an insurance scheme that includes both private and public system, venturing together

James Rohack, new President of The American Medical Association, has decided to introduce a government-funded health insurance scheme – reported Kaiser Health News.

He stated that the American Medical Association is in favour of an insurance scheme that includes both private system and a public system, venturing together.

According to Mr. Rohack, the health insurance plan is a joint venture one benefiting the congress members and many federal employees.

The AMA President said: β€œThe (Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan) available to Congress members and other federal employees could be expanded as a public option. That would avoid having to create a new program from scratch.”
