Alterra Capital, a provider of diversified insurance and reinsurance products, has appointed of Peter Andersen as vice president, underwriter of Alterra USA.
Peter Andersen has over 20 years of casualty insurance experience, most recently as senior vice president and casualty manager at Mercator Risk Services.
Prior to Mercator, he served as director at Conative Capital Management and as a director at Interfor, in both cases working on insurance due diligence projects.
Peter also served at Marsh & McLennan, where he held various management positions, including senior vice president – national energy/chemical practice leader for excess casualty, and manager and team leader in the excess casualty placement group.
Alterra president and CEO Marston Becker said that Peter has demonstrated his casualty insurance expertise throughout a fine career, and we expect that he will make an important contribution as Alterra seek to build out the underwriting capability of US insurance operations to complement Alterra’s successful insurance businesses in Bermuda and Dublin.
