Alterra Capital, a provider of insurance solutions, has appointed Joseph Rainone as new senior vice president and branch manager of its US specialty insurance operation Alterra Specialty.
Rainone has over 30 years of casualty insurance experience, primarily in the wholesale market, most recently as casualty manager at RSUI Group in Atlanta, where he headed the general and excess liability teams.
Prior to RSUI in 1998, Rainone was chief underwriting officer for Landmark Insurance, an affiliate of Lexington Insurance, and previously spent 15 years with The Chubb in various managerial positions, including regional manager.
Alterra Specialty CEO Steve Vaccaro said that Joe will join Alterra Specialty’s existing leaders in Atlanta, including Jeff Vetter, regional marine manager, and Corey Robinson, regional property manager.
Alterra Capital Holdings is an enterprise dedicated to providing diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance products to corporations, public entities, and property and casualty insurers. Alterra was formed in May 2010 by the merger of Max Capital Group and Harbor Point.
