Canada's Allstate Insurance has licensed the mobile claims system from Ontario-based Symbility Solutions for its property insurance operations.

The announcement comes a week after The Economical Insurance Group adopted the platform in a five-year, multi-million dollar deal.

According to Symbility, the mobile claims system runs on tablet and pocket PC’s with integrated Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPRS/1X wireless technology. It is designed to enable adjustors and contractors to write and process claims onsite in an effort to settle claims quicker.

Allstate Insurance deployed the claims system after it carried out a pilot program that evaluated the application based on consistency of estimate data and ease of transmitting and communicating estimate information.
