Allied World US, a subsidiary of Allied World Assurance, said that it will begin underwriting primary contractors pollution liability (CPL) coverage through Hartan Specialty Programs division (Hartan).

The new coverage will enhance Allied World US’s contractor’s general liability (CGL) program, which has been managed by Hartan since April of 2009.

Hartan will target commercial contracting risks including construction, installation, renovation and repair contractors.

In addition to this coverage, Hartan will also offer contractor’s general liability, owner’s/contractor’s and railroad protective coverage as part of this program.

CGL policies are offered on both an admitted and non-admitted basis for a broad range of general and trade contracting risks.

Coverage will be written on an occurrence form in 26 states on a non-admitted basis with primary limits of $1m/$2m.

Hartan president Ed Pray said that the partnership with Allied World US has allowed it to expand on the coverages the company is able to offer the contractor clients through this program.

"We are working together to identify ways to bring the broad product capability of Allied World US to the benefit of our clients, Pray said.
