Allied World Assurance Company Holdings has hired Joseph Barrett as new senior vice president (SVP) of Global Marine and Specialty division of Allied World Reinsurance Company.
Barrett, who will report to International & Global Specialty executive vice president Kevin Marine, will manage the crop, energy and specialty property treaty lines of business.
Marine said Barrett’s 14 years of crop experience and extensive contacts in the industry will be beneficial as the company looks to expand its business worldwide.
Prior to joining Allied World, Barrett held various underwriting and management positions at CIGNA Reinsurance, St. Paul Reinsurance and Platinum Underwriters Reinsurance.
