German insurer Allianz said that it had more than surpassed its target of attracting an extra 300,000 banking customers for Dresdner Bank in 2005, generating funds business from agents of over E1 billion.

Allianz, which bought the bank in 2001, sells insurance products through the bank and since last year has been selling banking products through its insurance agents. Net inflow into DIT and DEGI funds via Allianz agents exceeded one billion euros for the first time.

Stephan-Andreas Kaulvers of Dresdner Bank said: We want to build on the success of last year. New products, optimized processes and even greater consolidation of sales channels will enable us both to strengthen our market position in 2006 and to provide even better advice to our customers regarding insurance and finance.
