North America-based insurer Allianz Life has selected Matt Gray as the new vice president, market management and product innovation (MMPI).
The insurer said that Gray will be responsible for several key initiatives for Allianz Life, including product strategy and development, customer experience, and customer intelligence.
In his new role, Gray will also manage Allianz Life’s competitive intelligence, market research, segmentation, and analytics that help inform company strategies.
Allianz Life chief marketing officer Nancy Jones said that the product innovation is a critical function at Allianz Life, and Matt has been an integral part of developing some of our most successful products.
Gray has spent his entire professional career as an actuary with Allianz Life, starting with the company as an intern in 1998.
Gray was part of the team which developed the Allianz Life hedging platform, helped Allianz Korea in developing a fixed index annuity, and consecutively led actuarial product development for variable and then fixed index annuities.
