North America-based Allianz Life Insurance (Allianz Life) has named Gretchen Cepek as its new general counsel, effective 20 February 2012.
Cepek, who joined Allianz in 2009, will directly report to Allianz Life president and CEO Walter White and will serve as chief legal advisor for the executive management team and will manage litigation, corporate governance, product development, special investigations and government relations.
White said Gretchen’s legal expertise, company knowledge, and work with new products, distribution channels and operations make her ideal for the post.
With Allianz Life, Cepek was responsible for overseeing a legal team covering business operations, product development, distribution, and tax and government relations.
Cepek provided counsel on a range of legal matters for Woodbury Financial Services and was a also partner at the law firm of Querrey & Harrow prior to joining Allianz Life.
