Allianz Global Assistance has announced that the company’s founders will join a new technology venture, Fusion Company that will be launched on 1 July 2012.

With Allianz serving as an investor, the new venture will function as a separate entity and will incorporate staff and resources of the former AGA Interactive Company.

Allianz Global Assistance USA Chairman Jon Ansell and chief executive officer Beth Godlin will join Fusion as chairman and chief partner services officer respectively while Bob Dufour of AGA Interactive will be president of the Fusion Company.

The new joint venture will continue to grow acceptance of insurance offers for its travel partners while leveraging its high performance platform to serve a wide variety of global industries.

Ansell and Godlin founded the predecessor to Allianz Global Assistance in the mid-1980’s and are responsible for the travel insurance elevation into an important ancillary revenue product for airlines, on line travel agencies, travel agents and other travel suppliers.

Orbitz Worldwide president Mike Nelson will become CEO of Allianz Global Assistance USA, on 1 July 2012, and will oversee company’s US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil zones and will also become company’s global executive committee member.
