Aflac has appointed Thomas Giddens as senior vice president, co-director of sales, who will work in tandem with Ronald Sanders, senior vice president, director of sales, to strengthen the company's position in the supplemental insurance market.

Mr Giddens joined Aflac in 1983 as assistant vice president before serving in the field for more than 20 years. He was a regional sales coordinator in Atlanta and was later promoted to state sales coordinator of Georgia-North. He was named southeast territory director in 2009.

Ronald Sanders, senior vice president and director of sales at Aflac, said: As the voluntary benefits industry continues to evolve and become more complex, it became clear that there is a need for a co-director to assist in managing the many sales initiatives at Aflac.

I’m pleased that Mr Giddens accepted the position and look forward to working closely with him to manage the growth and performance of our team.
