The new improved accident product allows individual policyholders to select different levels of coverage, as well as other benefits related to accidents and injuries.

Aflac product management and innovation vice-president Keith Pellerin said: "Aflac is excited to continue leading the accident industry by introducing some of the new benefits available with our Accident Advantage policy to better meet the widespread needs of families across America today."

The insurance product provides new home modification benefit, waiver of premium benefit and family support benefit.

It also offers an additional benefit specifically designed to cover injuries sustained while participating in an organized sporting activity, as well as new prosthesis repair and replacement benefit.

The new product will cover speech and occupational therapy, in addition to physical therapy under the therapy benefit.

Aflac has also upgraded its other accident policies through the addition of four options of coverage for injuries such as fractures, dislocations, lacerations, concussions, burns, emergency dental work, eye injuries and surgical procedures.
