Aflac, a provider of voluntary and guaranteed-renewable insurance in the US, has promoted Susan Blanck as executive vice president, while also retaining her positions as corporate actuary of Aflac and first senior vice president of Aflac Japan.

Blanck joined Aflac’s Actuarial Department in 1993, and was promoted to second vice president and assistant actuary in 1998, and to vice president in 2000.

She assumed responsibility for developing Aflac’s business and financial plans in 2002, was promoted to senior vice president and deputy corporate actuary in 2004, and to corporate actuary in 2006.

In 2008, she added the role of first senior vice president of Aflac Japan to her responsibilities.

Aflac Incorporated president and chief financial officer Kriss Cloninger said Sue’s experience and proficiency have added greatly to Aflac’s ability to develop relevant and innovative products that leverage Aflac’s strong competitive advantages in both US and Japanese markets.

"At the same time, Sue continues to apply her extensive actuarial experience and knowledge base to corporate-level strategic planning and financial analysis for Aflac US and Aflac Japan," Cloninger said.
