Total revenues for Q3 of 2009 increased to $111.5m compared to $108.9m in the same period of 2008

Affirmative Insurance Holdings, a distributor and producer of non-standard personal automobile insurance policies, has reported consolidated financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2009.

The total revenues for the third quarter of 2009 increased to $111.5m, a 2.4% increase over the $108.9m in the same period of the prior year. The net premiums earned increased by $1.1m, or 1.2%, to $88.6 m for the three months ended September 30, 2009.

For the third quarter of 2009, the total gross premiums written for the three months ended September 30, 2009 increased $2.0m to $91.4m, or 2.2%, compared with the third quarter of 2008, primarily due to the expansion of independent agency relationships.

The loss from continuing operations for the three months ended September 30, 2009 was $3.4m compared with a loss of $3.5m for the three months ended September 30, 2008. The net loss for the quarter was $3.4m compared with a net loss of $6.6m in the third quarter of 2008.
