Aetna, a health care benefits company, has introduced ValuePick, a set of new products in Florida, US, that are designed to give uninsured small businesses health coverage options for their workers.

Aetna has said that ValuePick is priced to enable small companies, as well as newly formed businesses, to provide coverage for their employees. They will be marketed primarily through insurance agents and brokers in Aetna’s Florida markets.

ValuePick features three options: a health maintenance organization; a point-of-service plan that includes out-of-network coverage; and a high-deductible plan. All three offer in-network coverage for prescription drugs. Employers can offer up to three plans side-by-side, and can choose how much to contribute. Their workers then choose the plan that suits them.

Mark LaBorde, president of Aetna’s Florida markets, said: Finding an affordable health insurance plan for their workers is always difficult for smaller employers. Aetna is actively working to find solutions for those employers as we work to reduce the number of uninsured people, both in Florida and across the country.
