Brokers will be able to run quotes through a secure, password-protected website and create applications for their clients

Aetna, a health care benefits company, has introduced a new “Consumer Portal”, online quoting and application system at Aetna website, for individual health plans of California residents.

According to Aetna, through this system, consumer can receive quote for benefits plans in their area, by a click on “get a quote”, and entering their zip code, gender and date of birth. They can even compare different plan features and choose the plan that best fits their needs, and apply online.

Consumer Portal would also help brokers and agents that work with customers. Brokers will be able to run quotes through a secure, password-protected website and create applications for their client, and review the status of various applicants.

Gary Culp, West Region General Manager, Consumer Segment, Aetna, said: “We know that many consumers are not used to looking for insurance on their own, so we want to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible. This is especially true in California, where we have seen a significant increase in interest so far this year for our Aetna Advantage Plans for Individuals and Families.”
