US-based health insurer Aetna has signed a new multi-year network participation agreement with Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), a not-for-profit health care system serving firm.

Under the new agreement, Aetna’s commercial and Medicare members will be able to continue receiving covered inpatient and outpatient health care services, at in-network rates, from Manchester Memorial Hospital, Rockville General Hospital and ECHN-owned physician practices.

ECHN senior vice president of Finance & Information Services Michael Veillette said It is refreshing to negotiate with a company that understands the financial obligations of health care providers and can agree to reasonable reimbursement rates that keeps quality health care east of the river.

Aetna offers a broad range of traditional, voluntary and consumer-directed health insurance products and related services, including medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, group life and disability plans, and medical management capabilities and health care management services for Medicaid plans.

Our customers include employer groups, individuals, college students, part-time and hourly workers, health plans, governmental units, government-sponsored plans, labor groups and expatriates.
