Netherlands-based insurer Aegon has repaid €500m, plus interest, to the Dutch State for the support it has received in 2008.

Out of €3bn Aegon received from the Dutch government, the insurer has increased its repaid amount to €1.5bn, that includes €1bn paid to Dutch State in November 2009.

The repayment has been made from the excess capital which has been upstreamed from Aegon’s operating companies during the third quarter, according to the Aegon.
