AEGON has appointed Carla Mahieu as its global head of human resources. She will report to Alex Wynaendts, CEO of the company.
AEGON said that Ms Mahieu’s appointment will support its efforts to enhance, develop and retain the efficient talent in the international life insurance, pension and investment industry.
Previously, Ms Mahieu held several senior management positions in human resources at Royal Dutch Shell and Royal Philips Electronics and also the recruitment firm Spencer Stuart.
Ms Mahieu will work closely with local and regional HR officers to ensure a coordinated approach to identifying persons and capabilities that may prove beneficial to the company’s operations internationally. She will also implement an efficient approach to measure employee satisfaction across the AEGON Group.
Mr Wynaendts said: “This is an extremely important position. Carla will play an integral role in ensuring that we are fully leveraging the expertise and talent of our people and putting those resources to work for our customers, business partners, and for the benefit of our entire organization.”
