ACE Europe, a provider of property and casualty, accident and health and personal lines solutions, has launched ComputerGuard Plus, its IT hardware and network security policy, on the Safeonline broking system.

ACE has announced that brokers using the Safeonline system can now quote and bind their ComputerGuard Plus policy in one step. Mid-term policy adjustment can also be made online making the whole process simpler.

ComputerGuard Plus combines ACE’s existing ComputerGuard policy, which provides all risk cover on IT equipment, with cover for financial losses as a result of crime or accidental damage to data and systems. It also includes elements of ACE’s network risk policy – Dataguard, to cover losses resulting from hacking, website defacement, denial of service attacks and viruses.

Ian Harris, senior underwriter of technical lines department at ACE, said: The loss of data and hardware failure is a significant risk faced by most businesses today and ComputerGuard Plus can act as a safety net to cushion the financial impact of such a loss.
