ACE USA, the US retail operating division of the ACE Group, has named Caroline Clouser as the executive vice president, medical risk & life sciences, with an aim to boost its market share in the US underwriting sector.

Clouser will manage the underwriting, marketing and operations for ACE USA’s medical risk business, and also deal with the Life Sciences division, the company said.

Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, US, Clouser will continue to report to Ross Bertossi, division president, casualty lines.

With more than 21 years of insurance industry experience, Clouser has worked as senior vice president and chief underwriting and compliance officer with ACE Medical Risk.

In 2002, Clouser joined ACE and spent next two year working with the firm in Zurich, Switzerland, and contributed to build the medical professional and products liability business on a global basis.

ACE USA chief operating officer Chris Maleno said, "Caroline’s international experience, underwriting success and leadership capabilities make her well-suited for this key role."
