ACE USA, the US based retail operating division of the ACE Group, has appointed Chris Maleno as new chief operating officer.

In this new role, Maleno will assist the ACE USA president in overseeing all day-to-day operations for the company’s commercial property and casualty insurance products and services.

Maleno joined ACE in 2007, and most recently served as president, ACE Casualty Risk. He has 22 years of diverse experience in the insurance industry.

In addition, Ross Bertossi has been appointed as president of ACE USA Casualty Lines, where he will have overall responsibility for the company’s casualty businesses, with the exception of its large account primary casualty division ACE Risk Management.

Bertossi will also oversee ACE Casualty Risk, including the excess casualty, environmental, construction, custom casualty and public entity business units, as well as ACE USA’s foreign casualty operations.

With more than 23 years of industry experience, Bertossi joined ACE in 2002, as senior vice president, ACE Medical Risk. Prior to ACE, he served as senior vice president of CNA HealthPro.

Maleno and Bertossi will report to John Lupica, chief operating officer, Insurance-North America and president, ACE USA.
