Multiline property and casualty insurer Ace Group has announced the creation of a new distribution and client management unit for Asia Pacific region.

Covering the area from South Korea to Australia and New Zealand, the new unit will concentrate on expanding the firm’s offerings, including portfolio-based products.

ACE Group Asia Pacific property and casualty regional head and deputy regional president Paul McNamee said: "In this region, we recognize the need to focus on the growth of our partners and clients’ businesses just as much as our own.

"The development of the industry creates opportunities and efficiently trading with our key distribution partners only spurs this development."

The unit will work wih key brokers in the region on joint product design and execution of initiatives. It will serve the specific needs of the firm’s customers in the region, for delivering efficient trading across all commercial lines of business.

Ben Carey will be the head of the new unit in Asia, while Perry O’Leary will head the operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Operating in around 54 countries, Ace offers commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to its customers.
