ACE Asia Pacific, part of the ACE Group of Companies, has appointed Wim Matthys as regional senior risk engineer for Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Matthys will be actively involved in serving the energy book out of Australia and the Asia Pacific by working closely with the global energy operations and will also provide coverage for property and casualty clients.

Based in Perth, Matthys will report to Raimund Navakas, vice president & Asia Pacific regional manager of risk engineering services.

Matthys will relocate from Belgium to Perth, Western Australia in early 2012 where he will be ACE’s primary engineer positioned to serve areas in mining, offshore and onshore energy as well as property and casualty segments.

ACE Asia Pacific regional head property & casualty Jarrod Hill said Western Australia offers ACE the potential to grow their mining, offshore and onshore energy as well as their property & casualty businesses. Having an engineer of Wim’s calibre there will enhance their ability to seize those opportunities and strengthen their relationships with new and existing clients.
