ACE Insurance, part of the ACE Group, has assigned new responsibilities of overseeing its general insurance operations in Taiwan to John French, the country president for Hong Kong and Macau.

French has over 25years of insurance industry experience, more than half of which have been with ACE.

He began his career with ACE in Sydney in 1997 and went on to manage both the Queensland and New South Wales State operations before being promoted to Australia’s general manager in February 2003.

In his first posting overseas, he was made the country president of ACE’s operations in Singapore in 2003. As the country president of ACE in Thailand from 2005 to 2007.

The insurer also promoted Taiwan’s property & casualty business general manager Edward Tseng to country president of Taiwan. In this role, Tseng will report to French.

Tseng has been in the general insurance industry for two decades. He has been with ACE for 20 years and is a well known figure in the local insurance industry.

ACE Asia Pacific regional president Damien Sullivan said that he is pleased to see both John and Edward step up to more challenging leadership roles as ACE continue to build business diversity to grow its franchise in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
