Accident Fund Holdings, a workers compensation insurance holding company, has appointed Patrick Walsh as new chief claims officer.

Accident Fund Holdings, a workers compensation insurance holding company, has appointed Patrick Walsh as new chief claims officer.

Walsh recently joined Accident Fund executive team and is responsible for overall claims strategy and management of shared claims functions between the holding company’s four operating units – Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, CompWest, Third Coast Underwriters and United Heartland.

Most recently, Walsh served as vice president of claims for United Heartland. He came to United Heartland from The Hartford, where he served since 2007 as senior vice president, property & casualty field claim operations, responsible for the management of 3,800 employees in North America.

Prior to joining The Hartford, he served as vice president, Claims for Sentry Insurance Company in Wisconsin overseeing the claim operations supporting eight niche sales markets and the management of 1,600 employees in North America.

Walsh spent his career prior to Sentry at Kemper Insurance Companies in a variety of claims positions between 1986 and 2003, completing his time there as vice president, Client Services Group.
