Access Plans, a Norman-based distributor of health insurance and non-insurance healthcare programmes, has agreed to sell its insurance marketing business, America's Health Care Plan/RX Agency (AHCP) to the RF Group for an undisclosed price.
Access Plans chairman and chief executive officer Danny Wright said the pending sale of AHCP will enable its management team to focus 100% on its membership marketing activities.
Wright further added, "the resulting agreement to sell AHCP fits within the scope of the company’s’ ongoing strategic initiatives engagement with Southwest Securities."
Access Plans hired Southwest Securities to be its financial adviser as the company explored ways to enhance shareholder value, including consideration of taking the company private, raising or borrowing money for acquisitions or divesting an operating division in November 2011.
