ABC Insurance, part of the LV= Group, has announced that its private car insurance policy is now available on the Open GI system, currently used by 40% of the general insurance broker market.

The car insurance policy was launched in the broker market in September 2007 and is a full cycle electronic data interchange product.

Brokers have a choice of two products both offering the same level of cover, but the broker will have the option of choosing a lower commission level, passing the benefit to the customer in the form of a cheaper price. The policy cover includes, as standard, physical assault benefits as a result of ‘road rage’ and ‘car jacking’.

Phil Bunker, managing director of ABC Insurance, commented: We’re pleased our car insurance policy is now available to brokers through Open GI. This software house supports 27,000 users across more than 2,000 brokers of every size, a large number of which are very much ABC’s core target market.

Our private car insurance policy has proved very popular with brokers and its sales volumes have already far exceeded our expectations.
